Demi Lovato Rocks Brazil

Showing some love to her Brazilian fans, Demi Lovato gave a concert at the Chevrolet Hall in Belo Horizonte last night (April 22).

The “Sonny with a Chance” chick was all smiles as she took the stage in a multi-textured black sparkly ensemble and rocked out her hit songs for the packed audience.
In a recent interview, Demi confessed that the extreme ups and downs of being a famous actress/singer contributed to her tendency towards drug use.

"What I can say is that I was depressed. I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I'd come crashing down and would try to find a way to recreate that feeling, to stay 'up.’ Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs."
"They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my ass. I thought they were my friends. I thought I was having fun. Being a celebrity can be dangerous. Nobody says 'no'. That's why so many end up overdosing and dying. It could definitely have happened to me."

Demi Lovato: Brazilian Bikini Babe!

As she pushes forth with her overseas tour, Demi Lovato made the most of a day off by hitting the beach in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (April 18).

The "Skyscraper" singer showed off her sexy curves in a two piece swimsuit as she splashed about in the refreshing Brazilian waters with a few friends.

The fun in the sun comes as Miss Lovato is all set to perform back to back shows on Thursday and Friday at Rio's Citibank Hall before moving on to Sao Paulo.

In related news, Demi recently opened up with BBC Radio 1 for a special documentary titled "How Young Is Too Young To Be A Popstar?" - as she spoke about her battles with bipolar disorder, depression, bulimia and self-harm addiction.

Talking about the pitfalls of 'downtime' during the course of her interview, the 19-year-old said, "It (free time)can be dangerous. A lot of people don’t really know how to deal with that time. You have this crazy high from the concert and then you come crashing down and it’s… it can be dangerous.

"For me, I like to take a bath or get on my tour bus and hang out with my band or my dancers," Lovato continued. "I like to surround myself with people who keep me having a good time so I don’t feel like I have that huge crash."

Demi Lovato’s Lollipopin' Tyler Shields Photo Shoot

She’s ditching her wholesome image for good, and Demi Lovato's new photo shoot by Tyler Shields has solidified her as a bona fide sex symbol.

The former Disney darling appears in a series of sensual shots; in one particularly racy one, she’s seductively licking a lollipop.

Shields told press, "We wanted to show that Demi is all grown up from her Disney days and is a really beautiful and powerful woman now."

"When I showed her the images she was really excited and could not wait for us to post them so that her fans could see a different side to her."

"When you meet Demi she can be a real force of nature, and this particular image of her smashing the glass really captures that. She looks amazing and was really great to work with," Tyler added.

Demi Lovato: Marchesa Marvelous at the People's Choice Awards

She has always been a fan favorite, so it’s no wonder Demi Lovato was larger than life at the 38th People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles tonight (January 11).

Clad in a lovely Marchesa frock, the “Camp Rock 2” cutie took a few minutes to pose for the shutterbugs and fans out front of the Nokia Theatre ahead of the evening’s exciting event.

Demi likely kept her fingers crossed as she headed inside, as she’ll be vying for the Favorite Pop Artist trophy against Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce Knowles, and Katy Perry.

Ms. Lovato is also scheduled to give a fabulous live performance, as is contemporary country songstress Faith Hill.

Demi Lovato Covers Seventeen February 2012

She’s been through the ringer and come out on top, and Demi Lovato says she owes her recovery, in part, to her friends.

The “Skyscraper” songstress told the February 2012 issue of Seventeen that her BFF Miley Cyrus was there for her when she needed her most, though they’ve also had their fair share of tiffs.

"No matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each others' lives. Miley and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it's brutal and we're like, 'We're never going to be friends again!' Then two days later, we're like, 'I love you and I miss you!'"

Ms. Lovato also noted that gal pal Selena Gomez is entirely different. "She's not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we've been through so much together."

As for what’s next, Demi shared, "I have so much to look forward to -- from little everyday things, like where I'm going to go shopping with my friends, to big things, like heading out on the road [on tour], or even really long-term things, like what my next big project will be."
